Research areas and interests

Functional Materials and Opto-electronics Research Group (FORG) specializes in fundamental as well as applied research on functional materials and semiconductor materials devices.

The group's research focus is primarily on solution processed growth of nano-crystals, single crystals, inorganic metal-chalcogenide quantum dots, low dimensional perovskite analogues and corresponding theoretical crystal studies. Employment of these novel solution processed semiconductor layers as an active materials in different opto-electronic devices in emerging technologies for light-emitting devices (LEDs), solar cells, photo-detectors and other device applications. All facilities pertaining to functional materials processing, characterization and various opto-electronic device fabrication are going to available at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India.
